About & Testimonials

ABOUT

I am a passionate educationalist, with a particular focus on helping vulnerable children to succeed in education or any activities that provide them with an opportunity for success. I have over 20 years of experience; as a Primary Teacher, working and managing teams in Youth Justice, supporting schools as both an Education Safeguarding Advisor and LADO (responding to allegations against staff), most recently as a Virtual School Head focusing on Children Looked After and Previously Looked After.

As an NLP and IEMT trained practitioner, I can support the adults in your education setting to ensure that they can best respond to the needs of the children in their care.  I hope to inspire empathy, curiosity and kindness. I am trained in Emotion Coaching and can deliver this alongside other training or stand-alone. I can offer a Coaching Model to support staff needs, and a Supervision Model to ensure there is robust case discussion around children that staff are working with.

With a psychology degree, a PGCE with educational psychology and extensive continuous professional development; I am able to combine theory and the latest research, to ensure up to date and evidence based practice.

As an AIM Associate I can deliver training specifically created for education professionals around understanding and managing Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence, meeting the requirements of the latest KCSIE guidance around Child on Child abuse in schools, and I am trained to deliver the Safer Working Consortium's Safer Recruitment training.

I work closely with a number of Special Schools, and have knowledge and experience of working with and responding to the needs of children with Special Educational Needs. I can therefore support staff and schools in reflecting on how well they support these children in their setting.

I offer consultancy and coaching for Education Settings, Local Authorities and other Professionals or Services.

I will always endeavour to try and find a way to meet your needs and offer a solution and a way forward. I am dedicated, committed and hardworking so if you have an idea of something that I can do for you, then I am happy to discuss.

Rezina created an Inclusion Strategy for Calderdale Music Trust that needed to be completed both within a tight timeframe and meet the strict criteria of our funders. I’m pleased to say that Rezina delivered the strategy well within the agreed time, exceeded our expectations in terms of the quality of the strategy but also and more importantly, it has already had a positive impact on the children and young people that it was created to support. We are now looking forward to her delivering our follow up training sessions!

Schools and Education Settings

My offer to education settings includes:

  • delivering training in early adversity, developmental trauma and attachment,
  • delivering training in Emotion Coaching,
  • providing emotional wellbeing support through staff coaching or supervision on either a 1:1 or group basis, or providing training for staff to support each other,
  • providing advice, guidance, training and audits in all aspects of Safeguarding,
  • an independent and objective perspective for investigations or complaints,
  • training for Teaching Assistants or Support Staff to ensure that they are responding to children's individual needs, particularly where there are SEND needs, and thus supporting their chances to reach their potential.

This is by no means an exhaustive list and I am happy to discuss your specific needs.

Other Services

My offer to professionals or other services involves advice, guidance and support coming from an education perspective, and with an in-depth understanding of how different services work together.

My extensive experience of working across different agencies, with what was formally Safeguarding Children’s Boards and more recently Safeguarding Partnerships, allows me to provide relevant educational information with a genuine understanding of where this fits in a wider context.

A career that has relied upon effective and positive multi-agency working, provides me with an ability to appreciate the relevance of education to Social Care, Health, Residential Settings, Independent Foster Agencies, Adoption Services. Youth Justice Services and the Voluntary sector to name but a few.

I can also provide any of the above training referred to for education settings, for out of school clubs, sports or activity clubs, music or dance schools or any setting where you work with children.

If it is professional coaching you are interested in,  I can offer this to organisations for either individuals or groups. Likewise if you an individual who feels that professional coaching is something that could benefit both your emotional wellbeing and your professional development, then this service is available to you.

Bespoke Services

Every customer and setting is unique. I am always happy to discuss your needs and create a customised plan specifically for you.

I have a flexible hybrid offer which can include face to face appointments or training, or I can deliver all services virtually via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. For any training needs we can plan your offer and review how this is delivered nearer your dates. We can agree virtual delivery, a hybrid model of some virtual and some face-to-face delivery, or we can focus on face-to-face delivery.

Lightcliffe’s Senior Leadership Team met with Rezina Kelly today (virtually!) for a really helpful and thought provoking discussion focussed on student and staff well being. She was just brilliant and has really supported us on our journey of becoming a much more inclusive, caring and nurturing school.
